Legendary Ornithologist

A Legacy in the Field

A Legacy Devoted to Indian Avian Biology

Dr. Bhavbhuti Parasharya was a prominent figure in agricultural ornithology, wetland preservation, and avian studies in India. His lifelong research, particularly on wetland birds, bird habits in agricultural ecosystems, and the nesting behaviors of target species, helped shape local nature policies and conservation systems. To keep his vision alive, VNC India established this fellowship program to support independent, hands-on field researchers who seek to understand and conserve bird species of India.

"In honour of his legacy, the Dr. Bhavbhuti Parasharya Ornithology Fellowship supports early-career researchers and conservation work in avian ecology through financial assistance, mentorship, and professional networking opportunities - carrying forward unwavering commitment of Dr. Parasharya to wetlands, waterbirds, and the natural world."
